Season 8 was the debut of one of the most terrifying Villian in the Smallville Universe.... Doomsday!! This was a risk that the producers of smallville took in order to keep that fans interested in the series. before season 8, Michael Rosenbaum left the series because of more future movie interests, but that didn't stop tom welling and the writes and producers of smallville. Doomsday was the character that in 1993 changed the face of DC comics 7 the DC Universe forever, he killed the Man of Steel... Superman # 75 was the issue that the death of superman was iminate, but what made the producers of smallville choose doomsday for season 8 instead of season 10!!! In my opinion, bring doomsday for season 8 was a bad idea on the producers 7 writers part, i think they should've went with a more practicle villian like Zod and formed a better understanding in the back story of how Zod was going to destroy Krypton, but as we all know krypton was destroy by the destruction of their sun. but bringing darkseid into season 10 just brings a bigger mistake because they do not have the resources and the capabilities to pull this kind of a character to be a threat to planet earth in the smallville series.
Doomsday should've been the ultimate threat to planet earth for clark kent to become The man of steel. but this isn't the only time the producers of smallville left a mistake unfixed... back in season 5 in the finale lex luther gets possesed by the spirit of General Zod that escaped the Phantom Zone and reek havoc on earth, only to be defeated by clark kent and sent back to the phantom zone. Then in season 9 Zod returned but was major Zod, a Younger character that came close to full filling his destiny in becoming general Zod, only to be sent to a new planet krypton by the Book of Rao & clark kent. So Question Remains: Why did the producers leave Zod & doomsday to rot in Hell, and Brought a character who obviously isn't going to come close to being Darkseid in the comics, but ends up in human form on Smallville???
This is an Argument that is going to go for years to come....
IMO maybe ZOD but not doomsday. I didn't like how they did doomsday but I'm looking forward to darkside.
